Ministrul ucrainean al Energiei, Gherman Galuşcenko, a declarat, ieri, că Ucraina nu va negocia cu Moscova reînnoirea contractului pentru tranzitul gazelor ruseşti pe teritoriul ucrainean, care urmează să expire anul viitor, informează Reuters.
De cealaltă parte, Rusia a declarat că ar lua în considerare prelungirea contractului care îi permite să trimită gaze în Europa, prin Ucraina, dincolo de 2024, dacă Uniunea Europeană – care s-a angajat să renunţe la gazul rusesc până în 2027 – mai are nevoie de astfel de livrări.
Galuşcenko a declarat, în schimb, că sunt şanse mari ca în ţările europene să nu mai existe cerere pentru gazul rusesc.
„Cred că anul viitor va fi un indicator în ceea ce privește capacitatea Europei de a funcționa fără să aibă deloc gaz rusesc”, a declarat acesta.
El a adăugat că Ucraina poate juca un rol important în asigurarea stabilității pieței de gaze din Europa, în această iarnă.
Companiile europene continuă să stocheze gaze în instalațiile de depozitare a gazelor din Ucraina, iar această tendință, crede el, nu va face decât să se intensifice. „Ucraina este capabilă să garanteze securitatea aprovizionării pentru Europa, iar acest lucru este important”, a mai afirmat ministrul energiei de la Kiev.
Actualul contract între Gazprom din Rusia și Naftogaz din Ucraina a fost semnat la sfârșitul anului 2019, pentru o perioadă de cinci ani și ar expira la sfârșitul anului 2024.
Conform termenilor acordului, Gazprom poate să livreze prin conductele din Ucraina un minim de 225 miliarde de metri cubi de gaze, în decursul celor cinci ani: 65 de miliarde de metri cubi în 2020 și câte 40 de miliarde de metri cubi de gaz în ceilalți patru ani.
