Guvernul ucrainean a interzis pentru patru zile, în capitala Kiev, toate manifestările dedicate Zilei Independenței (24 august) – care marchează 31 de ani de independenţă faţă de regimul sovietic – de teama că atacurile forțelor ruse ar putea deveni și mai intense, relatează Reuters, conform Mediafax.
Temerile sunt din ce în ce mai mari legate de această zi. Departamentul de Stat al SUA a transmis, astăzi, că are informaţii potrivit cărora Rusia vor intensifica asalturile asupra infrastructurii civile şi a facilităţilor guvernamentale din Ucraina, îndemnându-i pe cetățenii americani să părăsească de îndată Ucraina în preajma acestei zile, cu o semnificație istorică pentru Ucraina, care acum, în contextul războiului, capătă o și mai mare însemnătate.
La rândul său, președintele Volodimir Zelenski a avertizat că Rusia, care a invadat Ucraina pe 24 februarie, ar putea spori și mai mult ofensiva militară, în perioada Zilei Independenţei de miercuri, care marchează desprinderea Ucrainei de regimul sovietic. Armata ucraineană a avertizat, încă de ieri, că Rusia a plasat cinci nave de război și submarine purtătoare de rachete de croazieră în Marea Neagră și că Moscova poziționează sisteme de apărare aeriană în Belarus.
Regiunea ucraineană Harkov introduce stare de asediu pentru 36 de ore, începând tot de astăzi. De asemenea, serviciul feroviar îi sfătuiește pe pasageri să reprogrameze orice călătorie către cel de-al doilea oraș din Ucraina.
Tot în contextul Zilei Independenței, ONU este îngrijorat că Rusia va organiza procesele deja anunțate pentru cei 2.000 de prizonieri de război, care s-au predat în luna mai, ieșind din tunelurile complexului siderurgic Azovstal.
În tot acest timp, la București, Ambasada Ucrainei a anunțat, pentru mâine, o manifestare de susținere cu Ucraina, care va avea loc în piața din fața ambasadei.
Mâine, se împlinesc, totodată, și șase luni de la desfășurarea invaziei Rusiei în Ucraina, luptele continând să se desfășoare pe mai multe flancuri, inclusiv în jurul centrale nucleare de la Zaporojie și în regiunea Crimeea, anexată de Rusia în 2014. Un prim bilanț tragic al acestor luni de război a fost anunțat ieri de autoritățile ucrainene, care au transmis că, în timpul luptelor de până acum, și-au pierdut viețele 9.000 de soldați ucraineni.
