SUA aprobă un ajutor de 2,6 miliarde de dolari pentru Ucraina și aliați

SUA au aprobat un nou ajutor de 2,6 miliarde de dolari pentru Ucraina și aliații săi, inclusiv 675 de milioane de dolari în arme pentru Ucraina în lupta cu Rusia. Secretarul apărării, Lloyd Austin, a anunțat pachetul de arme în cadrul unei întâlniri cu zeci de colegi miniștri la baza aeriană americană din Ramstein, Germania.

Ajutorul include obuziere, muniții, vehicule Humvee, ambulanțe blindate și sisteme antitanc. SUA au promis deja un ajutor militar de cel puțin 13 miliarde de dolari pentru Ucraina. Administrația Biden a declarat joi că a alocat 2 miliarde de dolari pentru asistență pe termen lung, sub formă de investiții, pentru a consolida securitatea Ucrainei și a 18 dintre vecinii săi, inclusiv a membrilor NATO și a celor care nu fac parte din NATO și care sunt expuși riscului unei viitoare agresiuni rusești.

Secretarul de stat american Anthony Blinken a sosit în capitala ucraineană Kiev, în timp ce colegul său i-a îndemnat pe aliații Ucrainei să se angajeze să sprijine țara atât timp cât va fi necesar și să fie pregătiți să adapteze tipul de sprijin oferit.

„Înseamnă să ne mișcăm urgent pentru a inova și pentru a impulsiona toată baza noastră industrială de apărare pentru a oferi Ucrainei instrumentele de care va avea nevoie”, a declarat Austin.

Descriind invazia Rusiei ca fiind un „război de cucerire ilegal, imperial și de nerefuzat”, el a spus: „Acum vedem succesul demonstrabil al eforturilor noastre comune pe câmpul de luptă.” Miercuri, președintele ucrainean Volodimir Zelenski a declarat că armata țării sale a efectuat recent atacuri de succes împotriva forțelor rusești care controlează zone mari ale Ucrainei în sud și est și a recucerit așezări din apropierea orașului Harkov din nord-estul țării.

Secretarul britanic al apărării, Ben Wallace, a declarat că există semne că Ucraina face progrese militare reale. Artileria și rachetele cu rază lungă de acțiune, furnizate de Occident, ajută la țintirea liniilor de aprovizionare și a centrelor de comandă rusești.
