Eurodeputaţii au cerut joi Comisiei Europene să renunţe la recrutarea controversată a unui eurodeputat german pentru un post bine remunerat, din cauza suspiciunilor de favoritism care o vizează pe preşedinta Ursula von der Leyen, relatează AFP, preluată de Agerpres.
Parlamentul European a aprobat cu majoritate de voturi un amendament care face apel la anularea numirii şi la lansarea unei noi proceduri. Votul nu este unul constrângător, dar o slăbeşte politic pe Ursula von der Leyen, candidatul cap de listă al conservatorilor din Partidul Popular European, cu două luni înainte de alegerile europene.
Amendamentul a fost adoptat de Parlamentul European, reunit în sesiune la Bruxelles, cu 382 de voturi pentru, 144 împotrivă şi 80 de abţineri.
18.430 de euro pe lună
Controversa priveşte nominalizarea la sfârşitul lui ianuarie a unui emisar pentru IMM-uri. Postul a fost atribuit eurodeputatului german din PPE Markus Pieper, la câteva săptămâni după congresul PPE de la Bucureşti, de la începutul lui martie, când formaţiunea paneuropeană a susţinut candidatura Ursulei von der Leyen pentru un al doilea mandat.
PPE a încercat să contracareze acest vot depunând un amendament care susţine nominalizarea şi pe şefa Comisiei Europene, dar eurodeputaţii l-au respins.
Markus Pieper a semnat contractul duminică, 31 martie, şi urmează să-şi preia atribuţiile pe 16 aprilie, pentru un mandat de patru ani. Postul de grad 15, unul dintre cele mai înalte din ierarhia europeană, urmează să-i aducă o remuneraţie de 18.430 de euro pe lună, potrivit grilei oficiale.
S-au scandalizat până și comisari europeni
Cu puţin timp după vot, Comisia Europeană a reafirmat prin intermediul purtătorului său de cuvânt Eric Mamer că a „respectat procedurile” şi a confirmat că Pieper îşi va prelua atribuţiile de săptămâna viitoare.
Şeful diplomaţiei UE, Josep Borrell, precum şi trei comisari, francezul Thierry Breton, italianul Paolo Gentiloni şi luxemburghezul Nicolas Schmit, au cerut o discuţie în cadrul colegiului celor 27 de comisari, punând sub semnul întrebării „transparenţa şi imparţialitatea” procedurii de numire a lui Pieper.
Nicolas Schmit este, la rândul său, candidatul cap de listă al socialiştilor în alegerile europene din iunie.
Subiectul a fost în cele din urmă abordat în cadrul unei reuniuni a colegiului de miercuri. Discuţia „a durat o oră, comisarii PPE luând cuvântul rând pe rând pentru a-l apăra pe Markus Pieper”, a explicat o sursă.
Candidate ignorate
„Thierry Breton şi Josep Borrell au vorbit despre lipsa de colegialitate şi probleme flagrante în împărtăşirea informaţiilor din partea dnei von der Leyen”, a mai precizat sursa citată de AFP.
Pe 29 februarie, mai bine de zece eurodeputaţi din patru grupuri politice – S&D, Renew, Stânga şi Verzii – i-au adresat o serie de întrebări Ursulei von der Leyen despre această chestiune.
Ei au făcut referire la informaţii potrivit cărora doi candidaţi, eurodeputata cehă Martina Dlabajova din grupul Renew şi Anna Stellinger, din cadrul Confederaţiei întreprinderilor suedeze, au ajuns în ultimul stadiu al procedurii de recrutare obţinând evaluări mai bune decât Markus Pieper.
