Rusia va părăsi Stația Spațială Internațională după 2024

Rusia a decis să renunțe la Stația Spațială Internațională (ISS) după 2024 și să se concentreze pe crearea propriului avanpost orbital, potrivit noului șef al agenției spațiale a țării, recent numit.

„Bineînțeles, ne vom îndeplini toate obligațiile față de partenerii noștri, dar decizia de a părăsi această stație după 2024 a fost luată„, a declarat directorul general al Roscosmos, Iury Borisov, președintelui rus Vladimir Putin, în comentarii publicate marți de Kremlin.

Borisov, care a fost numit de Putin la începutul acestei luni în cadrul unei reorganizări a agenției spațiale ruse, a declarat că Rusia va „începe să formeze” stația orbitală rusă propusă (ROSS) pe măsură ce va ieși din acest efort multilateral, într-un moment de tensiuni ridicate între Moscova și Occident din cauza invaziei primului în Ucraina.

Declarațiile lui Borisov au reafirmat declarațiile anterioare ale oficialilor spațiali ruși privind intenția Moscovei de a părăsi avanpostul spațial, un program de cooperare între Europa, Statele Unite, Rusia, Canada și Japonia, în următorii ani. Lansată în 1998, platforma de cercetare care orbitează la aproximativ 400 km deasupra Pământului a fost ocupată în mod continuu din noiembrie 2000, oferind astronauților un centru de desfășurare a unei serii de proiecte de cercetare diferite.

Remarcile lui Borisov au fost făcute după ce Roscosmos a anunțat la începutul acestei luni că a semnat un acord istoric cu agenția spațială americană NASA privind zborurile și echipajele integrate pe ISS – un caz rar de cooperare între Moscova și Washington în ultimii ani. Acordul asigură că stația spațială va avea întotdeauna la bord cel puțin un american și un rus pentru a menține ambele părți ale avanpostului orbital funcționând fără probleme, potrivit oficialilor NASA și ruși.

NASA și Roscosmos, principalii parteneri ai stației spațiale, veche de două decenii, au căutat ani de zile să reînnoiască zborurile de rutină integrate cu echipaj, ca parte a alianței civile de lungă durată a agențiilor.
