Ministrul de externe din Coreea de Sud Park Jin va efectua luni prima sa vizită în China, în timp ce guvernul președintelui Yoon Suk-yeol încearcă să liniștească Beijingul în legătură cu relația lor, în ciuda legăturilor mai puternice cu Statele Unite și a tensiunilor legate de Taiwan.
Park are programată o ședere de trei zile în orașul portuar Qingdao din estul țării, în timpul căreia va purta discuții cu ministrul chinez de externe Wang Yi, a anunțat ministerul de externe de la Seul. Park este primul oficial la nivel înalt care călătorește în China de când Yoon a preluat funcția în luna mai.
Coreea de Sud face tot posibilul să liniștească Beijingul
Călătoria sa are loc după ce Beijingul și-a exprimat indignarea față de vizita președintelui Camerei Reprezentanților din SUA, Nancy Pelosi, în Taiwan săptămâna trecută. China revendică insula autoguvernată ca fiind a sa. Yoon s-a confruntat cu critici din partea parlamentarilor – unii din partidul său de guvernământ – pentru că nu s-a întâlnit cu Pelosi. Yoon, care se afla în vacanță, a avut în schimb o convorbire telefonică cu aceasta. Biroul său a declarat că decizia a fost luată în considerarea intereselor naționale și că nu a existat nicio presiune din partea Beijingului.
Miza vizitei lui Park este ridicată, în condițiile în care Seulul se află pe o linie fină între alianța sa cu Statele Unite și China, principalul partener comercial al Coreei de Sud, pe fondul intensificării rivalității lor. Park a declarat că deplasarea sa va fi o șansă de a reduce neînțelegerile și de a stimula cooperarea în domenii precum comerțul, sănătatea și mediul.
„Prin promovarea activă a comunicării strategice la nivel înalt, putem avea o mai bună înțelegere reciprocă, putem reduce neînțelegerile inutile și putem extinde interesele comune”, a declarat el la o conferință de presă.
Park a precizat că, atunci când s-a întâlnit cu Wang la reuniunea miniștrilor de externe ai G20 de luna trecută din Thailanda, acesta a spus că întărirea alianței Coreei de Sud cu SUA și participarea la un forum economic pentru Asia susținut de SUA, despre care Beijingul a spus că a fost conceput pentru a decupla țările de economia sa, nu a fost menit să „neglijeze sau să lase deoparte” legăturile cu China.
