Aproape jumătate din Europa se confruntă cu seceta

Aproape jumătate din teritoriul Uniunii Europene se află, în prezent, sub avertizare de secetă sau sub un nivel de alertă mai sever, ceea ce afectează agricultura, producţia de energie şi aprovizionarea cu apă, a confirmat Comisia Europeană, potrivit Sky News, preluat de Mediafax.

Potrivit Observatorului European al Secetei (EDO), aproximativ 45% din teritoriul blocului comunitar se află în condiţii de avertizare, pe două dintre cele trei categorii de secetă. De asemenea, 15% din teritoriu a trecut în cea mai severă stare de alertă, ceea ce înseamnă că plantele şi culturile sunt grav afectate.

În Italia, anul 2022 este până acum anul cel mai călduros din secolul al XIX-lea, fiind afectate nu mai puțin de șase regiuni ale țării. Ca urmare a temperaturilor caniculare, recolta de porumb a Italiei este afectată la jumătate, iar producţia grâului a scăzut și ea cu 30%, la fel și cea a fructelor – cu 15%. În plus, fermierii spun că acest bilanș este doar unul provizoriu, fiind foarte probabil ca, în câteva luni, producțiile să fie și mai mult afectate, pe măsură ce seceta se prelungește.

În Franța, de miercuri întreaga țară este în stare alertă de secetă, aceasta fiind cea mai gravă din anul 1958, aşa cum a spus premierul, Elisabeth Borne. Previziunile de caniculă toridă se mențin pentru mai multe ţări, și în lunile august şi septembrie, ceea ce înseamnă că seceta va afecta, în continuare, agricultura, producția de energie şi aprovizionarea cu apă a întregului continent.
